FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I specialize in capturing the genuine essence of your wedding day—the laughter, love, and cherished moments shared with families and friends. My photography focuses on real candid moments, ensuring you feel comfortable and true to yourselves. As a documentary wedding photographer, my goal is to tell your story authentically, evoking emotions that let you relive each moment naturally.
I am based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Anywhere and everywhere!
Minimum 6-12 months prior to your wedding date. The earlier the better.
Honestly, neither am I.
But let me tell you a little secret, nearly every couple starts off by telling me that they weren’t comfortable infront of the camera. However, I will make sure you feel super comfortable with me on the day, so when we reach the portrait session, things will flow naturally. No cheesy stuff here – just timeless, fun and natural photos. After a decade in the field, I know it’s crucial for you to feel at ease and be yourself. I’ll give you as much or as little direction as you need.
Many couples have told me that they forget I'm even there, as I seamlessly blend in like a friend or guest, ensuring your photos reflect the joy of your special day authentically.
I know you will be very excited to see the photos. Which is why I have a clear timeline for you. Within a week, I share a preview of 20-30 of my favourite images from the day. Which you can use for ‘thank you’ cards, or anything.
The average editing time is around 4-6 weeks for the full set.
If you want your full set quicker, I do offer a ‘lightning fast turnaround’ option, this leads to a shortened timeframe of just 2 weeks.
You'll receive the images via an online gallery to be viewed, downloaded and printed for personal use at your convenience. Perfect for sharing with families and friends.
No, the (second) most important part of my job is the editing and selection of your images. I am taking about 4000 -6000 pictures at a wedding and of those I really only choose the best ones. Instead of giving you tons of similar photos, I choose the ones that capture the most important moments and details. This way, each photo tells a part of your wedding story. I want your photo gallery to be full of beautiful pictures that show all the emotions and memories from your big day. I focus on making sure each photo is top-notch, so you'll have a collection you can treasure forever.
I retain the copyright of the images. However, I always provide an official copyright release for you allowing unlimited personal use. So you are more than welcome to print and share them amongst family and friends (please accredit @katharinabrennanphotography when sharing on social media) But you can't sell them to Vogue magazine. 😉
I prefer to; however I'm totally flexible because I'm not about being pushy. Your privacy is important, and I'll never insist on holding onto any rights to publish your photos. But hey, I'm hoping you'll love your photos enough to want to share them.
Yes, all of the photos are edited for colour, adjusted for exposure, cropped and straightened as needed.
Depending on the package you choose, you’ll receive a specific number of fully retouched pictures. I’ll enhance skin and correct any imperfections caused by camera angles or lens distortion, but I’ll ensure it looks natural and not overly retouched, preserving the image’s realness and the natural beauty.
For national transactions, I accept payment via bank transfer or cash.
For international transactions, I also accept bank transfers as the primary method. However, if you prefer to pay via credit card, I can accommodate special requests. I offer credit card payments exclusively through 'Stripe' for added security and convenience.

I shoot weddings solo most of the time. If I need a second photographer, that budget is added to the total cost of your booking. Second photographers are great for weddings larger than 100 guests. It’s not essential, yet it can enhance the ability to capture candid moments of your or your guests that you might otherwise miss.
Thankfully, I've never encountered this situation in any of my weddings (fingers crossed ), but I have a backup plan just in case. I'm part of a great group of photographers who share my style and experience. We're always ready to help each other out when needed. If anything does happen, I'll give you a few options to choose from, making sure it's easy for you. While I take care of everything else, you can trust that I've got your back!
I fully embrace it! I enjoy working with whatever weather we encounter because it's all part of your day. I will closely monitor the weather and offer ideas on how we can make the most of it. I don't see bad weather; instead, I see opportunities for beautiful light, dramatic skies, reflections in puddles, and veils blowing in the wind. As Dolly Parton once said, "If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain." I never let the weather hinder my photography; in fact, I see it as an enhancement to my creativity.
Absolutely, engagement shoots are a great opportunity for us to get to know one another and see how I work. Other non-wedding shoots are available on request.
I am using the Canon EOS R8 and a mixture of Canon lenses.
The equipment needed from one wedding to the next can vary greatly. My rule of thumb? I pack more gear than I think I'll need (it's a life philosophy). And just when I think I've packed it all, I throw in a little extra.
Absolutely. It's a habit. I tend to pack more than I probably need. See above!😉
I don't need or even want a meal break. During downtime, I typically sneak in a couple of quick breaks to grab some water and a snack. By the way, it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide those snacks! But again I'd rather not sit down for a big meal while I'm working—I don't want to miss a thing. And let's face it, sticky cameras are no fun.
